Assessment

Someone has built something, or wants to. We tell you what it's actually worth before you commit.

Assessment work is bought by people with a decision in front of them and a date on it — an investor mid-transaction, a board being asked for more budget, an owner holding a quote he can't evaluate. What all of them need is a straight answer from someone with no stake in the outcome.

This is where our rule bites. When we're brought in to judge work that isn't ours, judging it is all we do. We don't quote for fixing what we criticise, and we don't put ourselves on the shortlist. An assessment that doubles as a sales pitch is worth nothing, and everyone in the room knows it.

Vendor Proposal Review

from $4k · 1 week

A quote is in front of you and you can't tell whether the number is honest. We take apart the estimate, the timeline and the architecture behind it: what's missing from the scope, what the assumptions really imply, where the change requests will come from, and what it will cost to run once it's live.

Cheapest way to start with us, and the one most likely to save its own fee.

Delivery Review

from $8k · 1–3 weeks

The programme has slipped and the vendor wants more budget. We establish what has actually been built versus what has been reported, what finishing it genuinely costs, and what's cheaper to stop. You get a position you can defend in the room — with numbers, not impressions.

Technical Due Diligence

from $15k · 2–4 weeks

For buyers and investors. Codebase, architecture, technical debt, team capability and key-person risk — plus the number most diligence skips: what keeping this alive will cost over the next three years, and how much of the roadmap is really available at that price.

AI Initiative Review

from $6k · 2 weeks

You've spent on AI and can't see it in the results. You're not unusual — most companies using AI report no measurable effect on the bottom line. We work out which of your live initiatives pay for themselves, which need different data before they can, and which to shut down this quarter.
